This weekend, from 14th to 16th March, the XIII Congress of the Spanish Society of Integrated Children’s Dentistry was held in León on the days of 2024. Dr. Romina Vignolo Lobato, as a specialist in early treatment in children, participated with a presentation, lasting almost two hours, entitled “Early treatment and orthopaedics with aligners: New tools in early treatment with aligners. Minimal intervention orthodontics”.

The question of when to intervene in the treatment of malocclusions has long been a matter of debate. Classically, the main objective of early treatment has been focused on the correction of transverse problems and waiting until close to the peak of growth to try to stop mandibular growth and/or stimulate maxillary growth and achieve an apparently normal interarch relationship.

Currently, treatment with aligners offers us a wide range of tools to carry out early treatment and solve malocclusions in the three planes of space. Achieving more stable results in the long term. The application of aligners in orthodontics at an early age “is based on discovering where, when and how to act on the neural receptor centres that provide the developmental response of the stomatognathic system so that,
by stimulating them physiologically, they provide us with a normal and balanced developmental response”.

We would like to thank the organisation of the congress for having had the participation of one of the official speakers Angel Academy and Angel Aligner, as well as the great reception from the audience that filled the room. We hope to come back next year.
