Dr. David González Zamora Presents at SPODF 2026 with a Lecture on Open Bites Treated with Aligners

Dr. David González Zamora, a member of the Angel Academy faculty, served as a speaker at the SPODF 2026 Annual Meeting, held in Oeiras, Portugal.

His presentation focused on the treatment of open bites with aligners, one of those clinical scenarios where planning allows for no shortcuts. Throughout the session, he shared his approach to addressing these cases, starting with diagnosis, vertical assessment of the patient, and the definition of a biomechanical strategy consistent with treatment goals.

The talk highlighted key considerations for the orthodontist: when a case is truly suitable for aligners, which movements should be prioritized, how to manage extrusion or intrusion based on the patient’s pattern, and what role assistants can play in improving control and predictability.

At Angel Academy, we are delighted to be part of forums like the SPODF, where the discussion goes beyond the system and focuses on clinical judgment, shared experience, and decision-making in complex cases.

For us, aligner training is meaningful when it helps orthodontists better understand a case, anticipate limitations, and work with protocols that can be applied in the clinic.

Thank you to the SPODF organizers for including us and, especially, to the Angel Aligner team for their support.
See you next time!
