1st Angel Aligner Symposium. Málaga (Spain)

Angel Aligner lecture: “New horizons in early treatment with aligners”.

Simposio Angel Aligner

From the 21st to the 23rd of March, we will be at the 1st European Angel Aligner Symposium to be held in Malaga. Dr. Romina Vignolo Lobato will participate in this unique event with a presentation on early treatment with aligners, which she specialises in, on Friday 22nd March. Her topic, “New horizons in early treatment with aligners: Can we balance growth through the occlusal plane?” will explore early orthodontic treatment with Angel Aligner aligners, as well as the great benefits and incredible innovations that the Angel Aligner system brings to both orthodontists and our patients.

The question of when to intervene in the treatment of malocclusions has been the subject of debate over the years. Traditionally, the main focus of early treatment has been on correcting transverse problems, and it has been expected to be close to peak growth in order to try to stop mandibular growth and/or stimulate maxillary growth, achieving an apparently normal interarch relationship.

Interceptive orthodontic interventions in the primary and early mixed dentition share the common goal of promoting more favourable mandibular growth and the subsequent development of a satisfactory bite. For such treatments, the most common malocclusion characteristics to be intercepted are dentoalveolar compression, crowding and correction of occlusal plane inclination, which will result in proper mandibular dynamics. Currently, treatment with aligners offers a wide range of tools to perform early treatment and address malocclusions in all three planes of space, obtaining more stable long-term results.

The application of aligners in early orthodontics is based on “discovering where, when and how to act on the neural centres that provide the response for the development of the stomatognathic system so that, by stimulating them physiologically, they provide us with a normal and balanced developmental response”.

We are very excited to participate in this 1st European Angel Aligner Symposium, where we will be able to share knowledge, get to know each other and establish synergies with other orthodontic colleagues. See you on Friday 22nd March!
