This year, we will not miss the 4th Congress on Aligners and New Technologies organised by the Spanish Orthodontic Society, which will be held in Zaragoza. From 19 to 20 September, hundreds of orthodontists will gather at one of the most important events in the world of orthodontics.
Dr. David González Zamora will give a talk on Friday 19th, from 11:00 to 11:35, entitled ‘Transverse correction with aligners: from early treatment to resolution in adults’.
Crossbite is one of the most frequent and complex clinical challenges in orthodontics, especially when it is not treated at an early stage. This lecture will address a comprehensive clinical approach to the management of transverse collapse from childhood to adulthood, using clear aligners as the primary therapeutic tool.
Through the presentation of real cases in patients of different ages, different diagnostic and treatment strategies will be illustrated, adapted to the stage of development, the severity of the collapse and the aetiology of the transverse problem. The role of interceptive orthodontics in mixed dentition, expansion protocols with aligners in adolescents, as well as alternatives for resolution in adults, including combination with MARPE or surgical treatments when necessary, will be discussed.
The talk will emphasise the importance of well-planned biomechanics, the appropriate selection of digital tools, and the strategic use of auxiliaries to maximise the predictability of cross-sectional treatment with aligners.
