This past weekend, February 13th and 14th, we had the pleasure of holding the first module (of three) of the 2nd edition of the Clear Aligner Training Program, a master’s program in orthodontics with aligners. This training is designed to delve deeper into orthodontics with aligners from a clinical, practical, and fully applicable perspective for daily practice.
During two intensive days, we shared knowledge, clinical experience, and, above all, a strong desire to continue growing professionally alongside fellow orthodontists committed to excellence.
A Master’s Program Start Marked by Participation and a Positive Atmosphere
This first module stood out for the excellent atmosphere among the attendees, their active participation, and the very positive reception from all the registered professionals.
From the very beginning, a close-knit, collaborative environment focused on practical learning was fostered—one of the fundamental pillars of the program. Day 1: Clinical Foundations and Workflow with Aligners
The first day focused on establishing the necessary foundations for successfully integrating aligners into daily clinical practice.
- Topics covered included:
- Initial orthodontic visits and evaluation protocols
- Workflow in the dental clinic
- Orthodontic diagnosis and diagnostic records:
- Clinical photography
- 2D and 3D radiology
- Digital impressions (with hands-on practice)
- Document management in orthodontics
- Treatment options with aligners: Select, Pro, Kids, and retainers
- Materials used in aligner treatments
- Attachments and integrated buttons
- Bite lifts and pressure points
- Clinical procedures:
- Attachment placement
- Integrated pressure point techniques (clinical practice)
Participants were able to work directly on real-world protocols, reinforcing their learning through guided practice sessions. Day 2: Digital Planning and Advanced Clinical Management
The second day focused on treatment planning and advanced clinical management of cases using aligners.
The program included:
- Clinical Preferences (practical session)
- Treatment Prescription Form
- Creating and Managing Clinical Cases
- 3D Diagnostic and Planning Software
- Clinical Case Review Protocol (practical exercises)
- Use of Elastics with Aligners
- Treatment of Class I Malocclusions
- Vertical Overbite Control
- Final Practical Clinical Session
This day enabled participants to understand how to translate digital diagnosis into predictable and efficient clinical decisions. Practical Training Oriented to Clinical Reality
One of the aspects most valued by attendees is the eminently practical nature of the master’s program, designed so that each professional can immediately apply what they have learned in their practice.
The Clear Aligner Training Program aims precisely for this: to combine solid theory, real clinical experience, and supervised practice to improve safety and predictability in aligner treatments. Upcoming Clear Aligner Training Program Modules
This first session marks the beginning of a training program divided into three modules, where we will continue to delve deeper into biomechanics, advanced treatment planning, and the resolution of complex clinical cases.
We approach the following modules with the same enthusiasm and commitment to offering high-level training in orthodontics with aligners.
Thank you!
We would like to especially thank all the attending doctors for their involvement, enthusiasm, and willingness to share knowledge, as well as our international colleagues for being part of this experience.
Of course, we also thank Dr. María Florencia Mulhall and Cristina Pérez from the Angel Aligner team for their support.
See you on April 17th and 18th for the next module!
