This was the 1st European Angel Aligner Symposium

Angel Aligner

From 21st to 23rd March the 1st European Angel Aligner Symposium was held in Malaga, where more than 250 orthodontists from all over Europe and 14 speakers came together to share and explore, for the first time at a congress, the cutting edge of innovation and collaboration in the field of orthodontics with Angel Aligner.

Dr. David González Zamora and Dr. Romina Vignolo Lobato were part of the Angel Aligner speaker team, each giving a talk exploring the Angel Aligner possibilities.

The first was Dr. González Zamora, with a talk entitled “iOrthoTM: How can software improve the finishing in aligner treatment”, where he focused on one of the biggest challenges an orthodontist faces: the successful completion of clinical cases. In this presentation, the most important keys to achieve a high quality finishing in the treatment of malocclusions in the most efficient way possible were analysed.

Dr. Romina Vignolo Lobato, for her part, shared her in-depth knowledge of early treatment in a presentation entitled “New horizons in early treatment with aligners”, in which interceptive orthodontic interventions in the primary and early mixed dentition share the common goal of promoting more favourable mandibular growth and the subsequent development of a satisfactory bite. For such treatments, the most common malocclusion characteristics to be intercepted are dentoalveolar compression, crowding and correction of occlusal plane inclination, which will result in proper mandibular dynamics. Currently, aligner treatment offers a wide range of tools to perform early treatment and address malocclusions in all three planes of space, resulting in more stable long-term outcomes.

We thank the Angel Aligner team, the other speakers for sharing their point of view and experience and, of course, the attendees. It was an amazing day. The first of many.
